Rub on Transfers for Furniture Hobby Lobby

Before I get into this week's furniture transfer project, thank you lot. Thanks for all your heartfelt condolences and sharing your stories. I read and re-read all of them. Some of your comments made me smile and some fabricated me cry, but every one of you touched my middle and offered comfort.

So here's what I've kinda-sorta-been-working-on to distract myself. I actually started this upcycled vintage radio cabinet a few weeks agone. It'southward all the same not 100% complete. At that place's no backing on the correct side and I couldn't detect a matching pull for the left lesser door.  The blackness wax is applied but hasn't been properly buffed in…. but it's looking adept then I thought I'd share anyway.

I forgot to take a proper 'before' movie but here's what information technology looked like with a base coat of Slick Stick and Caviar Black. I also replaced the original hardware with these larger and more ornate pulls from Hobby Lobby and added a DIY applique on the bottom.

This is the vintage radio cabinet in progress. I used a layered paint technique to tie in the colors in this Floral Furniture Transfer. I too cutting two boards to size to hide the speaker holes with this floral pattern.

APPLYING Furniture TRANSFERS | RUB ON METHOD::

Applying these rub on furniture transfers is really piece of cake to do.

My inspiration for this radio cabinet was this gorgeous floral transfer by Re-Pattern with Prima Marketing. It'south called "Nighttime Rose" and has beautiful tones with a sophisticated moody vibe. *Update – I believe this transfer has been discontinued nonetheless you can find stunning floral transfers here! What practise you retrieve?

Step #1:: Cut Transfer To Fit Article of furniture

For this upcycled radio cabinet I used 2 full sheets of the floral transfer on each console and then I cut one sheet to end off the last few inches of the panel.  It'due south really easy to practice and the key is to match the blueprint so it looks seamless.

If y'all look upwards close, you lot tin see where the seam is, simply you'd never exist able to tell just continuing back and looking at the entire chiffonier as a whole.

Step #two:: Position The Transfer and Rub-On

These Rub-On-Furniture-Transfers are super simple to use. Use a lilliputian elbow grease and rub on! They can be practical to stained furniture, raw wood or painted furniture and a rub-on-tool is supplied with the transfer.

Pace #iii:: Once Rubbed On – Remove the Plastic

The transfers come up adhered to a transparent plastic sail. One time the pattern has been successfully rubbed on and adhered, the plastic superlative sheet gets removed. I like to do this step slowly in case I've missed adhering whatever spots. If you notice the pattern is coming up with the plastic, it's piece of cake to lay back downwardly and rub a little more than until it sticks.

Step #iv:: Transfer Cut-Outs

To add a little 'extra something' to this cabinet I cutting a few of the individual florals out and applied them randomly to the height drawers and left pes. This ties the slice together and adds movement.

What I really like is the layered pigment technique ADDS to the floral design. How many scarlet roses do yous run across on this human foot? Information technology looks like there are ii roses, right? Really it's 1 rose transfer on the left, simply the correct is the layered pigment tricking the eye.
